Vietjet sells tickets according to a low-cost model: low base price, additional checked baggage purchased in packages. Correct understanding of regulations helps you avoid fees incurred at the airport.
1. Hand luggage
| Ticket class | Portable |
|---|---|
| Eco, Deluxe | 7kg – maximum size 56 × 36 × 23 cm |
| SkyBoss | 10kg or 14kg depending on route + 1 small bag under 2kg |
| SkyBoss Business | 18kg + 1 bag under 2kg |
In addition to the main bag, you are allowed to bring personal items such as laptop bags (≤ 40 × 30 × 10 cm), small handbags. Hand luggage must have a Vietjet tag and can be weighed at the aircraft door.
2. Checked baggage
- Eco: not included - buy packages of 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40kg... (depending on route).
- Deluxe: 20kg (trips under 7 hours), 40kg (international flights over 7 hours).
- SkyBoss: 30kg + 1 golf set 15kg (short course), 50kg (long course).
- SkyBoss Business: 40kg + golf (under 7 hours), 60kg (long distance).
Each piece has a maximum weight of 32kg, maximum dimensions 119 × 119 × 81 cm. The 20kg package has no limit on the number of pieces, but Vietjet recommends no more than 2 pieces.
3. Where is the cheapest place to buy extra luggage?
Buying at the same time as booking a ticket or before the flight (through websites, applications, agents like VeDuHoc) is significantly cheaper than buying at the counter. Should be completed no later than 3 hours before departure time.
4. Note
- Power banks and lighters are not checked in.
- International carry-on liquids: each bottle ≤ 100ml in a 1 liter transparent bag.
- Terminal: Vietjet domestic flights at Tan Son Nhat operate at T3 station - see station post.
VeDuHoc experts compare many brands and give free quotes for packages.
